Introducing: Cap B
I recently came across U.S. based artist Cap B and his music caught my attention from the get-go.
Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Cap B (real name, Akingbenga Akinyemi) has lived both in Nigeria and in the UK and now lives in New Jersey in the US.
Cap B has been inspired by music from early childhood, writing for fun to entertain his friends and later moving on to writing hip hop and R&B songs and producing his records professionally.
Cap B linked up with a couple others who shared in his passion for music (Hottice, L.P and Olumoney), creating the group DNB (Dem Naija Boys) which focused on an afrohip hop fusion.
Ever since then, Cap B has been steadily working towards the delivery of his music, having recently released the video to his single “Hello” Ft. Leksai and Justin Kase off his “CAP-a-Bility” mixtape.
We look forward to hearing more from Cap B in the near future as he has been deemed a “Person of Interest” to watch out for.
