“L”-ementary Music
For all the ladies that have been asking me to introduce them to L and for everybody else that asks “who is L?” whenever the topic comes up..this one is for you.
One of the freshest faces to come out of the UK since, I dunno…Craig David? I am proud to introduce to everybody..L
I recently had the opportunity to get in touch with L and hs manager to get a sneak peak into L the person and what he has going on with him and his music, his ambitions and inspirations, so sit back and enjoy the music fundamentals that is L-ementary Music.
P.S. keep looking out for the official “My Ex” video from L soon…
..I chose the name L for its ambiguous nature.. something as simple as a single letter can have an infinite number of meanings.. how plain it is, to me, gives it its appeal. At one point I also flirted with the idea of naming myself after my home city.. seeing as I spent years in both Lagos and London, when I thought of using a letter, “L” seemed like a perfect fit.
..For lack of a more poetic way to put things, I would have to say that music is little more than a means to an end.. if there were no riches in it, I would simply keep it as a hobby and bypass all the stress and sacrifice that surrounds it. My ambitions drive me forward.. however I genuinely enjoy creating good music, and have always been of the impression that if one is given the choice, then becoming successful through a career that provides happiness and self satisfaction is always the way to go..lol.
..As such I have moulded my entire life since I was 13 around reaching the top of this industry, and then going further.. The single most powerful driving force behind all plans I may have for my career, and for my life, is the will to succeed.. and the desire to surpass.
..I don’t believe that my music is restricted to any 1 genre… it really depends on the way the wind blows while it is being created. Although I think its important to have a base around which one can experiment with and merge different styles, diversity remains an important factor in any major project I partake in.
..Our plans for the immediate future include securing distribution through a reputable channel, and successfully promoting the 1st single “My Ex” off my debut album… as well as actually finalizing the album itself.
..Cliche as it may sound, I 1st decided I wanted to be a singer after hearing Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album (may he rest in peace) when I was still a child. I, like many others, spent a good deal of my childhood attempting to emulate him. Aside from that one moment, I cannot really think of any milestones in my journey thus far. Since I 1st flirted with the idea back then, it has been a steady rise in skill, determination and prioritising to get to where I am today… and it is my opinion that all of it was nothing but a ripple in comparison to what is still to come. No matter how I look at it, the years I have already put in outside of the industry do not count for much when played against the years I have to come within it. But come what may I am extremely anxious to move forward…
..Currently the bulk of our operation is based in England.. although there are those lending aid from Nigeria, the U.S., France and Dubai. Production-wise we work out of 4 studios.. one being my personal recording space here in London, another being Bibby Jones’s production site in Sheffield.. and the last two being Dights Parkin’s studio (where we begin most of our mix downs, and where I have also begun to track certain key vocals of late) and Metropolis Studios (where all our songs are summed and mastered), both also located in London.
..You can find my music on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/pages/L/67298718267), Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/liketheletter), and Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/acaciamusic). As of yet there is no official website, however our plans are to have it up and running in the near future
Kind regards and thank you for the support.
L
